Welcome to the latest edition of Web Talk - April 2003

Winter is on its way so its time to think about winter woolies, thick socks and warm toddies. This month we look at communities for parents online and websites to do with winter fashion, eating and heating.

Online Communities for Parents

The way the Internet has changed lives never ceases to amaze me and most of the time although these changes are small the amount of joy or comfort they bring can be huge.

Recently there was an article in the NZ Herald about a website for Mum’s providing advice from other Mum’s. This idea is fantastic especially for those new Mum’s out there who don’t have their own Mum readily available to answer these questions. It’s a challenge being a new Mum and having the support and resources of thousands of Mum’s at your fingertips is a neat concept – plus they’re Kiwi Mum’s as well. If you’re curious check out http://www.Mums.co.nz.

This online community is based on a more international one found at http://www.ammas.com. Mother’s all over the world come across similar problems all of the time.

What about Dads? Why not have a look at http://www.fathersdirect.com/ or http://www.mrdad.com. Some of the following have advice for both Mum’s and Dad’s.
